Captain Ben Ricks is a licensed and insured captain. He has been an avid fisherman since he was “knee high to a grasshopper.” Ben got his start in freshwater lakes and rivers in North Carolina and Alabama. When his first job landed him near Mobile, AL, Ben switched over to saltwater fishing and the rest was history.

Ben has been back in North Carolina since 2010 and has fished coastal NC extensively since then. Ben is also a certified fisheries biologist and an accomplished tournament angler. Ben is also on the board of Directors for the Todd Willis Open Fishing Tournament and the Neuse River Summer Slam Fishing Tournament. Ben also co-hosts the Reel2Reel Podcast with Captain Dana Tabarrini (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/reel2reel-podcast/id1567322818). Ben has dedicated a large portion of his life both in his free time and professional career to “learn to think like a fish” and it shows.

Most importantly Ben is a man of faith and family. He is active in his church and whenever possible he, his wife Heidi (The Redfish Queen), and his daughter will be fishing or hunting.
